The George Street Bike Challenge for Major Taylor

Visit majortaylorassociation.org for complete 2019 event results

For 17 years the George Street Bike Challenge for Major Taylor has been presented by Barney's Bicycle, The Major Taylor Association and The Seven Hills Wheelmen

The last event in 2019 event boasted over 100 starters and record breaking times. Hundreds of cheering spectators lined the hill and made the event one we will never forget.

Undfortunatey due to the Covid 19 worldwide pandemic we have been forced to put this extraordinary hometown cycling event on hold.

But just as Major Taylor overcame incredible challenges to earn his World Champion title, we will also rise again to return this awesome cycling event back to the streets of Worcester.

Barney's Monday Night Rides are in hibernation.
Join us in the spring for Worcester's longest running group ride.

Every Monday night we do a 15 mile loop around the beautiful Holden reservior. We encourage new riders with a 14mph minimum average speed. We have three regroup spots so no one gets left behind. We don't care what you ride as long as you bring a helmet. A group of 30 plus riders in prime season keeps the spectrum wide open from the "just for fun" to the "fast and furious". Ride starts 6pm in our rear lot. Don't be shy, come and join us!
